I use the Niel Pryde ones with cut off finger tips, they grip the boom nicely and save all that wear and tear on your mit's.

Mine are "Uveto" with cut off fingertips, work well when you're all blistered.

But the best solution is to sail more often and build up those calluses!

lol I was waiting for the HTFU Had a look for online windsurf shops but can't find any that sell the neil pryde gloves.

Thanks Rip In Gale, just checked out those gloves and it looks like there's way more variety at the marine shops so I'll go down and have a look tomorrow.

if you've got an old steamer - cut about 6 -8 inches of the arms - slice down one side for your thumb to protrude but leave it long enough to cover up to your first knuckles - with the external seam from the arm hole towards your fingers - did it when I was learning and worked better than the fingerless gloves that are rotting on my shed floor.

Then someone directed me to HTFU stop impersonating a rubber man with a floaty vest booties and gloves - now I sail naked and just grin and bear it!

Some great ideas and thanks for all the links too, I ended up getting a pair of Ronstan deckhand gloves. I'll just use them when any blisters are red raw, then when they have dried up and gone to dead skin I'll leave the gloves off or for when ever someone needs a deckhand I got a few tips from Mike at Onboard too, he said just poor metho over the blisters then after you hit the roof they'll be all dried up.

Rather than Metho (which is not good for you) go to the chemist and get yourself some rubbing alchohol (I thunk it's a different type of alcohol) quite cheap and doesn't stink like metho

Also goes well with Orange Juice

Mind you Metho and Milk is quite acceptable
