After a three year absence, I seem to have lost some of my mojo. I used to be able to pick Boggy I conditions with laser accuracy, but this season, I have had a few false positives, and ended up disappointed.

So for my edification, and possibly others, I call apon the Oracles of the Alexandrina to give up their secrets.

I've heard the formula for a Boggy I sea-breeze is 4hectorpascal difference between Murray Bridge and Victor Harbour on a SWesterly. Is this right? What other portents should be consulted

(authors note; I do stop short of mucking around with chicken innards, seances and talking-in-tongues but could consider tantric sex).

Hi Trousers,

South, southwest to southeast, 25+ degrees and at least 4 degree difference between Victor harbour and Murray Bridge. Westerlies rely mainly on frontal systems.

Cheers.

Or Carl could come to Semaphore and show us all how it's done

Had a really enjoyable session at Sems today Carl. A bit overpowered in the first half, but then the wind lessened and could nail a few gybes. Me and Mark milked the session dry

Shane: I start by holidays today, so you'll see me down Boggy as well :)

Oi! I seem to recall the weeks at the start of the month you were sailing almost everyday!

hopefully we get some good breezes over the next two weeks while I'm on leave.

just got back from a pretty sweet afternoon on Boggy I. rigged my 7.0 at 3:30pm fearing i'd misread it - i was a touch underpowered at times , but just past four it kicked and i rode my 5.8 out the rest of the day. had the lake to myself, except for a kiter who banged around a little and left. worked on my gybe exits and got a few screamers by not banking as hard.

perfect start to my holidays.

yesterday's forecast was for 18-23 in the late afternoon. i'm not really sure what it got up to, but i was comfortable on my 5.8. granted, the Hellcat 5.8 almost has the low end punch of my V8 7.0 !?!...so much so i'm thinking of making the 5.8 my largest sail.

so J, I'm down there again today, this time Luke and Carl are going to come and I hear Sam will be there later in the day. I'll get there myself around lunchtime.

Cool :). Sounds good Shane. See you there at 3:30

BTW: what wind speed you reckon it will be ? (big gear session, or small gear session)

Hi Shane. Might pike out and go to Sem's instead. Looks like it might be a cranking SB today.
