Hey, we got 3 races in! Thanks to everyone for coming down. The conditions were marginal, hovering I suppose either side of 15 knots, but the tide was coming in fast and taking a few knots off the wind too.

We had a mix of gear across 9 sailors - 3 wind-foilers, some full on slalom kit with and some in between. The racing was pretty tough around a 400 m long figure 8 course. The wind was shifting and sometimes a lot of pointing and even tacking was required. But from the shore, it looked spectacular. Match of the day was Thomas on a 7m2 wind-foiler and Ian on a traditional finned slalom board with an 8ish m2 sail. Race 2 was the windiest, with Ian prevailing, otherwise the high pointing and early take-off of the foil had Thomas in front for the other 2 races. Outright win to Thomas. We will have a gathering and presentation at the end of series - standby for that.

Next time I will find a better way to lay out the buoys, and make the buoys a bit easier to see. When you do the maths for having 1 m of water at the inside buoy for the foilers, it meant paddling a long way out to set the course

Thanks to Ty from the Ocean Surf Co for sponsoring competitors rashies, and for the help with the admin and photos (have at look at them www.facebook.com/oceansurf.co). Thanks also to Resimax for sponsorship.

Thanks for supporting our Slalom Series, see you next time!

Cheers, Richard.

P.S. Laps were counted as roundings of the inside buoy. If your self assessed lap count differs, send me a PM and I will amend the record.

Thanks Dr Duck for the organisation. It was a really good afternoon and a good race. It was the first time I really race against fins. And the race was nice. I had to push hard to stay in front... Especially in the second race, as the wind was more consistent, Ian refused to let me the lead. And we stayed so close... until I took too much risk at a jibe.
I has been a long time since I had a so great windfoil sailing... and this morning, I had so much pain to extract my body from my bed
