Yes, I would be interested in another slalom race for sure, but I remember the events Garath organised at Boggy in summer 2012/13 were extremely difficult due to Boggy's unpredictable wind strengths and directions. Could I suggest Goolwa Channel ? (where the demo day was organised last Sunday). Being coastal, the wind is better behaved. Goolwa channel would allow everybody to compete IMO.

On ya WindyChris and thanks everyone for your comments and feedback. Jason, I think we will go with Boggy rather than Goolwa just on account of the boats and crowds at Goolwa which are more difficult to avoid in a race setting.

Yep, I' very happy to run the event and if people meet a new windsurfing buddy or learn or teach a new technique, or see what gear works where then that is win for me.

Having fun is half the fun :-)

This is such ridiculous conversation.
The wave sailors sail in the ocean where there are waves. They have wave sails and wave boards. This makes sense. They want swell, jumps and wave riding. Awesome, and good on them.The flat water sailors sail on flat water with race sails and slalom boards and some use gps units. They want flat water for faster speeds than they can achieve in open ocean. This also makes sense. Awesome, and good on them.

The flat water sailors do their thing. The wave sailors do their thing. It's a great system.
But then the wave sailors feel the need to bag the flat water sailors. Why? We don't bag you.
Does the ocean make you better? Is that what it is?

I was on WSA years ago and organised races and events for years. It was fun, and there was good participation.
It sounds like some of the wave guys are disappointed that the flat water guys didn't participate in their Boggy lake race.
I'm a WSA member. I pay my dues, contribute financially but don't expect anything in return. That's ok too isn't it?
There is no right or wrong here. There are just different people enjoying different windsurfing, on different equipment, in different locations, wearing different wetsuits and buoyancy aids. The world is a diverse place, and that's what makes it interesting.
We are all enjoying windsurfing the way we like to do it.
The 'flat water haters' are drawing unnecessary and embarrassing attention to themselves. It's not necessary, and actually makes you look pretty silly.
