If anyone would like to give this a go - I have a slightly slippery long board available to lend
The pies are super good at the sailing club too

C'mon Ben, why don't you come along? Everything is good at the Deviot Sailing Club, no matter what place you come in.

Hope you get some wind guys.
I'm unavailable this weekend to sail :-( I also have a Tiga raceboard welcome to be borrowed if anyone is keen. Will need to get in touch before Friday ;-)

C'mon guys. I'm out due to an interaction with a scalpel. Good chance to get people interested in the sport.

If there is a good bit of wind I will be there Clarence... 18 knots and I will be rigged up before anyone... Still last in though
Magic thing how they can cruise around in 5 knots... It's just not my thing

You could be the honorary pie warmer for the day if it is 17 knots.

It was a real mixed bag of boards, boats and sailors today- dinghy, cat and windsurfer. Steve brought his phantom 295, and I was surprised at how well Steve did, and also how well such a short board goes in marginal conditions compared to the equipe (Rustbucket) and D2 (me).

The wind was never over 8 knots, but it was steady both strength and direction wise.

Deviot Sailing Club is a great location and very welcoming of anything that sails if you want to have a go.

Sailing with a mixed fleet means there is a wide range of speeds and capabilites, so even a novice can have a bit of a go without being left totally behind.

I will put a few more photos up on the facebook page.

As Clarence said a good fun sail with a mixed fleet. We managed to hold off the cats untill we rounded the Hillwood mark and then they overtook us on the upwind leg. Clarence on the D2 left me behind, great sailing clarence. For an old board it goes upwind incredibly well, might be a handfull in 20knts. Would be great to get a few more on the water for next season, Deviot is going to add us in to their calendar for next year.
