i had another idea,

you pay sausage and myself to design you a banger of a house,

then we can go and blow it all on fancy windsurfing gear and sit on the beach for 12 months.

oh, you can come to the beach too.

well, building designer would be a better description. [}:)]

i like a well proportioned box, sausage is into mdernism also so we can do you a box no probs.

reason you know so many designers is because they all windsurf.

"Building Designer" in all my travels around the world i have admired the old style buildings, they have a certain charm that would still be appealing in another 150 years time i have yet to see any modern building that in 100 years from now will have that charm and appeal and thats if it's still standing.
When you design something have you got the freedom to do what you want or are you restricted to the clients needs?
Look at Washington DC most of their buildings are copies of Greek/Roman style and they look great.

Tell me one thing why do they call it a "building" when it's already been built?

i guess it's interpreting a brief that is important. the client should be able to get what they desire or there is no real point to it other than self importance. leading the client through the brief is also very important.

old buildings might look great but their functionality can be sadly lacking. design wise a lot has been learnt in the last 200 years. true modernism has influences far and wide in contemporary architecture. lets give it another 50 years. the yanks produced some classic examples during the 50's, to this day the majority of internationaly respected architects the world over still have one foot well and truly in the modernist camp. it's a proven philosophy that produces the right outcome typically.

anyways, regardless of era or style, the real test is the experience.

that's all a bit grey, as a model could also be a building or even a computer model.
