Hey guys,
Any one tried any other spots to wave surf in the Mandurah area apart from Avalon
As a surfer and now progressing to windsurfing I see a lot of breaks in the Mandurah area that are never used.
Even Gearies looks the goods and i have only ever see one guy there.
Maybe even Melros
Sometime to escape the crowd is a good thing
Any experiences or advice , let me know
Cheers guys

Bitumens opposite the 83 Spinaway Pde, Falcon is a great longboard wave for surfing even in a seabreeze. Very long rides and suitable for traditional logs its the closest we have to Malibu in WA... Tried windsurfing it once but wind was inconsistent possibly due to the protection afforded by the coast there. Its a great wave for a 9'8" log when working...Its shown in my Avatar.. Gearies and Avalon used to get sailed in the 80s...maybe the coast has changed...Adan Nicholson said this in May/June 1983: Heading south from Perth the first stop is Mandurah (sixty kms South) which holds a few good breaks at Halls Head, Gearies and Avalon. These work in just about any wind direction except direct offshore.."

They have both been sailed ever since, but Geary's mainly in the winter storms when Avalon is a closing out washing machine.
Florida and Blue Bay are also sailed.

No, I surfed it many many years ago, but preferred Avalon, and Avalon is just a short walk away, bitumens is a drive. I have sailed Geary's a few times but I tend to get sucked into buckets. Outside Geary's or sharkies can also be good if you like bigger waves. Some times the two join up, that can be a very long ride.

Not exactly Mandurah area though.
You can also sail secret harbour, but the wind is a lot more onshore there, Avalon and Geary's it's more side side on
