Not quite windsurfing but impressive none the less. Proof that fins are overrated:

rubber man was pretty impressive - good technical skills and balance

but not a single good turn or bucket thrown

fins are DAMN important !

In 10 years time maybe we will look back and realise that this era was a time when surfing lost its soul.

No fins for the sake of having no fins seems to have no point

Towing on a jetski because you have no fins seems even more soulless

Loose the jetski and buy some fins with the dollars you save.

No fins because you can only afford an old door thrown out on the town rubbish tip might have purpose, but add a jetski in a crowded lineup and suddenly it seems just plain wrong.

Not saying what he does isn't skillful, but then again manipulating the world stock exchanges to make a personnel fortune is also skillful, but it doesn't mean I have like it.

Maybe it's the era surfing finally evolved? I mean realistically, in my opinion, up until about 5 years ago when people really started pushing aerials surfing had been basically stagnant since the evolution of the short board. Throw in people like Matt Meola, etal and dudes like this just doing wild stuff for fun/experimentation, more and more people pushing aerials in comps (look at the frothing over Slater at Bells) and it pushes the sport, pushes board development etc etc. Only good can come from it imo...of course the 'purists' will be left behind because they have no hope of emulating it, hence are sad pandas

Re the video, mighty impressive...also pretty hilarious when he loses the edge on those big waves, no way to get it back haha.

Maybe its the era surfing split.

Split between people surfing and people waterskiing behind jetskis ?

He is good, but he would be insane with a set of fins on his board

Yeah because that was the entirety of the video wasn't it*....You'd be hard pressed to find a surfer who if offered a tow out wouldn't accept it, after all, we all know surfers surf...to paddle.

*Sarcasm for those playing at home.
