Heading to Kiama for a couple of weeks from Adelaide starting Sunday with my wave gear. Keen on advice on what board to bring. I'm 83kg but not great at Wobble and ride. I can bring a 99 or 89 litre.

Use a bigger board and smaller sail for down the line at Gerroa. It's not a jumping spot and having more float gets you more waves. Use a sail a size smaller than you think. 5.3 5.0.
Needs south swell. shoalhaven 20 mins south has good jumping if now waves at Gerroa. And a bigger board is better

Looks like a solid southerly on Wednesday. Is the normal Gerroa spot good on that direction? Can't head to Wollongong or we get locked down when we go back to sa!

In a southerly the best spot is Windang island. Just north of the river mouth. 20 mins north of Gerroa. Head to Windang Beach Tourist Park on Fern street. Good spot. Very sharky.

Windang Beach is in the Wollongong Local Council area, the boundary runs through the lake entrance at the southern end of the beach. Warilla, the next beach south is in the Shellharbour Council area and I guess exempt from the SA border restrictions at this point in time.

Next time I am in Nsw from SA during a pandemic and can't cross the local council of Wollongong line to sail at Windang with appropriate wind and swell, I will take your advice. I do appreciate the advice though!

At least I got to see Windang at work. Seems smooth on the inside but could do with a proper ground swell as the waves did not seems to carry in across the bay. Looked like it would be awsome when it works fully. Judgement call on how close to the wall based on the wind. Next time!
