Last weekend showed the season is not far away and the first NSW wavesailing event is just around the corner.
So its time to start getting out on the water to prepare for a great season.
First event is to be held at the south coast with 3 sailing options depending on wind and is running from 5-6th September
Port Kembla if its west
Gerroa if its NE or west - southwest
Windang if its South - southwest.

Saturday morning sign on location will be forecast dependant. Location will be posted on sea breeze wavesailing forum Wednesday Afternoon
Sign on will be between 9:30 and 11:00 with briefing Being held at 11:00am

The event base will be Gerroa with BBQ presentation to be held in Gerroa. Location TBC at briefing.

hey guys im new and trying to get into wave sailing ... ive got the gear and a fair bit of experience on the lake .... is thier age divisions???? how good does some one have 2 be to enter or is it up 2 anny one??

Hope to see your there! There is a couple of divisions: Youth, Groms, Amateurs, Masters and Pros. In the Ams its not so much about busting out forwards off the lip but more about cameraderie and encouragement to lift our level of sailing. Watching other guys in the same conditions gives you a much better idea about what is possible in the conditions and an understanding of the finer techniques. The pro guys and judges are pretty helpful and if the conditions are not sailable there is usually a "clinic" of some sort.

Membership is outstanding value for money; comps, insurance, bbqs, prizes and the chance to talk about the merits of carbon fibre booms with someone who's actually interested!

Give the posted number a call and just turn up. The committee members usually can be identified with their red shirt - let them know you are new and you'll get looked after.

Assuming you're joking. otherwise give yourself an uppercut for that one you goose.

If staying well out of the way means getting off any waves in my immediate vacinity, I am all for it. Actually that is a good idea, I hope everyone stays out of my way, I will get more waves.

Hope you guys get a good comp in, Im itching to get out on the water! But still at the snow so no waves for me until the end of september

Thought someone might make the brave call to hold the nightly festivities somewhere other than the Fishoes.

Sounds like fun, I've been doin the same down here......top of mountain bottom of mountain repeat!

And by the way I just didnt want to have to sail at Birubi in the middle of August again!

Who's got new gear? I saw a Bombora trifin on Ebay that looks the business.

I heard a rumor there may be a Quad making an appearance! I also got to touch the new Streamllined carbon narrow grip wave boom the other day - very light and its got the new strap on head! (I'll stop now its sound like windsurfing porn)

Best thing to do is come down on the saturday morning and you can meet everyone, its not serious, but amongst the good guys there is some friendly compitition, and its great watching these guys go for it.
If you cant make it saturday propbably best to give me a call sunday morning 10;00 am to see were we will be sunday.
