So you saw Chuck Norris out surfing and decided to run him down (extreme but in light of the Taranaki video... justified)... the results were not what you expected.....rookie error!

Here's my effort this week. Didn't hit anything except a nice gust.

Impressive! At least you didn't loose the fin.

What I see as most interesting is the Center US box fin broke at the front tab, the slot box fin looks intact , Barr red paint on the tip, and some superficial damage. The slot box looks ok, screws ...?.

Must have been a shallow area, rider error in depth calculations perhaps

think the screw have ripped out of the top section of the side fin, that fact that its stuck into the board is a slight worry. Snapped a few centre fins off at the tab.

Yes its at least the one advantage to the weakest fin ever made.
The MFC change from G10 to under-resined black glass was a legendary failure, that base is moulded-on and many cracked just tightening the screw. The improved version after all the warranty returns was better, but still delaminates near the tip with the tiniest reef hit.

First time I've seen it be an advantage though lol

I'm with Rider - good save

Interested in BSN101's now - WTF?!!! No hit and a crack like that?

For US Box fins get a bunch of these from K4: www.k4fins.com/product/k4fin-us-bolt-plate/
Fin plate with brass inserted into plastic. When you hit something it simply rips the the insert out of the plastic plate. Very little damage to the fin. And definitely no damage to the board... that is unless you have the fin so far back it get's rammed into the board.
