I'll be there tomorrow. I and one other sailed it yesterday, it was good, looked similar to your photos but bigger - we did plenty of chicken gybes!

Birubi went off again today. Smaller waves but better wind. Heaps of fun. 4.7m powered up... bring back the Mid Winter Bash...

Certainly looks like a swell magnet that place! Down here in the gong it would have been pushing 10cm max here today, maybe 15cm yesterday...aka TINY. Didn't even bother given how up and down the wind was.

I think we need to seriously address the issue of crack addiction in this sport.

definitely the best spot on the east coast for being able to ride a wave and a camel all in the one day.

It's actually no good in NE to NW, it's all too offshore.
Best is WNW which is our typical "westerly" which is a few degrees offshore from crossshore, and ENE which is the direction of the "NE" seabreeze in the Hunter, roughly 20 degrees offshore from crossshore. Any extra E in the ENE is more crossshore and also good. As far as I know it's not often sailed on that tack.

What about Nobby's reef on a southerly swell, or Birdie beach?
