at this stage windguru has good conditions for this weekend down around portsea so i was wondering if anyone was keen for some waves? ive surfed down there before and i know there is a big wind shadow out from the slc building but checking out google earth it looks like there is an area between the two car parks (one at london bridge) where this wouldnt be such a problem.
does anyone know of any other alternatives for waves around this area that would be good in a nw?

If you decide againt the waves I'm going down to Sorrento with a group of friends (non windsurfers) this weekend. I'll try to sneak a sail at Rye on Saturday - forecast looks good at this stage.

I would be heading down that way to but off to the snow on the weekend.

Ka222 is right, St Andrews is your best option, easy rigging plus no sand dunes and no wind shadows. But as soon as that coast gets a bit of west wind in it, it goes up 3 feet and starts to max out . Gunna has a bit of my kit because of this.

If it stays west go to flinders or if the swell picks up head for point leo. You have to swim your kit out but its the best direction.

If goes NW and the swell is 6+ on the open beaches there is a spot, with plenty of surfers but no windsurfers further down the bay that has a sucky peaky wave on a sharp reef that is heaps of fun.
