Would not worry about it. The reason I said what I did above, is the shark tag / track project a few years ago showed a great white shark went up and down the Perth coast 2 or 3 times a day. Just
one shark. So that one shark would pass my local windsurfing spot
every afternoon.
I suddenly realised in 20yrs windsurfing I'd have gybed on the outside, right near a shark, many times. Probably water started near a few.
I also saw a mate ride a wave many years ago, and a shark was under him for his whole wave ride of 3-5 bottom turns. He gybed off the end of the wave and went back out and the shark continued its course. It did not care about the wave slashing happening only 2m above it.
Not
disturbing - I think its quite
reassuring that they don't care about us.
EDIT: oh hang on, tourist? Yes all the wave spots have weekly, sometimes daily, shark attacks. Best to go to the river in Perth.
