It's actually surprisingly good fun wavesailing those big boards too.. Yes, you have to 'walk' the board to make em turn, but that just adds to the amusement.

Even low speed flat landings are not good on the ankles or knees though!

That pic looks a little suss... where's the wake on the wave that he launched off?

i think the wake is off to the right out of pic.

photo looks legit to me.

yes i am prone to occasionally taking the formula kit into the waves. it is lots of fun. it has been a while since i last did it.

landings are scarey, as soon as the fin hits the water the whole board pig roots down wind

How do you stop the nose from plowing into the waves? Those wide boards dont have much rocker do they?
I was out in big chop on my hypersonic and was having a hell of a time trying not to do my own impression of a submarine.

the thing is to pick your way through the waves.

i only went out in light winds. 10 knots or so.

strong winds were too much for me. fear kicks in.

i also didn't try to jump like the photo.


should also add the guy in the photo is 16.
