So after getting out of the water at about 4:30 this afternoon I couldn't seem to find my car. I have concluded that it must have been nicked. The key was tucked under the bumper .

Anyway just be careful if you sail there as it's obviously not as safe as we all thought.

also if you see any of the following for sale or dumped could you let me know.

my wallet phone and keys were also stolen. And it's already cost me 460 dollars to change the locks tonight. So it would be great if anyone sees anything and I could get some of my gear back. Reward of good karma and possibly beers for any info.

No I am too cheap for An iPhone.

It did have locating software installed but they must have turned the phone straight off as I tried to locate it to no avail

Yeah been reported. I phoned them about 5:15 to report it. The women on the phone asked me why I didn't report it straight away at 4:30?

Woohoo.

Went for a drive around and behind the rockingham hotel is my car.

But the best bit is so was all my kit. No phone wallet or car keys unfortunately.


So moral of the story is don't be a idiot like me and leave your keys with your car. secondhand windsurfing gear is worth nothing and auto locksmiths look expensive.

Great to hear you have recovered your car and kit. This is becoming a common occurrence with car thefts by means of the owners keys at windsurfing spots. It was also mentioned in another post that the low life's are commonly ditching the cars and leaving it for 24 hrs to see if a gps tracking type device was activated. The likelihood your car would have been there in a few days is questionable. I have a spare key with no electronic attached that I carry around my neck and hide the proper key set inside the car in a "secret" location never failed me for years... saw car been opened with keys left in magnetic cases or lockable devices where I was parked my car was never touched. Maybe i am just lucky????
