Yeah, i know there won't be any ultra flat spots, but is there anywhere where a 27+ weedy will suffice on a seabreeze?

Yes, there are flattish spots where you don't need a delta, but you have toork a bit to get to some of them (not all)

We headed to Coodanup today, Anita very kindly lent one of her Fangy fins to try out, which worked a treat in the shallows. She did warn me not to lay on too much back foot pressure, but in all honesty it didn't feel much different to one of my usual weed speeds. Did eventually put the 27 weed speed back in as the tide came up and that worked out ok, but had to stay a bit further offshore, so missed out on the flat water gravy runs all the delta sailors were getting.

I think my friends and I are going to make more trips down there now we've tried it. So we're going to have to invest in some delta type fins. Anyone got some they're looking to move on?

PS: sorry Mark, no nasty groundings today. You'll have to give me some more time to line some work up for you.

Australind is also an option for normal fins, about 90 min drive tho. Wait for westerly storms

I had a great sail on flat water at Liptons (Estuary place) today using a 27 Weedspeed

Bringing the topic up again, looking at the long weekend forecast, wheres good down there on a SE direction? I know most of the usual spots will get the get the wind, but is there a favoured spot?

Saturday looks a little light, SE is a good direction for Coodanup, fairly on shore long runs in the flat, There's not much weed at the moment, so a standard weedy is probably OK, depending on water depth. If the wind was strongenough for good speed runs, Liptons would be the fastest place, Can be a nice long run out to Ward pt, where there is more flat water, but somewhere on the way you'll run into dirty wind off Pt Grey.
Sunday looks too light for a slapper.
Monday, WNW is probably only good for Yunderup or Austalind. I haven't sailed Yunderup for ages, it's very isolated, and you don't want to be there by your self if something goes wrong. You always get sucked in to going a little further, and find your self about 8km from base.
The guys were at Australind the other day. What should have been perfect conditions turned out to be too choppy, I've no idea why.
