On Saturday 1 Feb approx 16:30 I attempted a gybe close to shore at Pelican Point without realising just how shallow it was. I came off in about 30cm of water slamming my right foot on the bottom. I bent all of my toes back, felt a sharp crunch and thought I broke my foot.

I was in agony and would really like to thank the people who helped me from the water and packed up my gear for me. I don't know how I would have managed on my own.

I had a x-ray yesterday and much to the surprise of my doctor and myself no fractures were visible. Provided recovery goes as hoped (and I do not need a CT scan) I will be back on the water approx. 4 weeks time (cross my fingers, but not toes :))

Update, i dislocated a toe and badly bruised the rest as well as ligament damage on top of my foot. Still better than breaking bones they tell me.

Hi FlickySpinny, great pic, looks like you test the boundaries too!

Hi wally sailor, sorry to hear. Glad you're on the mend. We'll miss you at the nationals in NSW, but hopefully see you and other WAs next year, might be Sorrento, Victoria. Thanks for all your help with the Windsurfer Class. Talk soon. Cheers.

Thanks WindsurferOD, good thing I am not coming to the Nationals this year! I still can't sail, the physio reckons another 3 weeks. It is getting better, but still painful at times :(.

Any word of a possible Windsurfer OD world title being held in the foreseeable future? I have a few interested over in WA if one comes up. Would be great to catch up with old friends, a great nostalgic event. Cheers
