Its a typical WA reef break, few metres deep into fin shallow if you go straight. Its a couple of km sail so you need to be confident.

I haven't sailed there for 30 years. If it's low tide there's a keyhole south of the island, sort of L shaped. Once on the outside of the island it's plenty deep with good swell. It's a long way out if you break something.

Ive been out to little island and want to know the depth of the reef behind there, where the break is so I know what to expect.

You did ask a sensible question by the way.l can not tell you how deep it is but l use to sail there from pinnaroo pt (slalom gear).a few times .crystal clear waters on a nice day not a place to break something.good little break too .cheers

Gotta go around the inside reef too so its not an easy one

??? Nothing wrong in asking for local knowledge of a place or venue, could save someone's life, have to say you're reply is out of order, thought this was a windsurfing community helping each other? No offence, just saying ?

Its pretty good out there but take flare, vest and extra rope. I use to take my phone in an Aquapac. You get reception out there.
There is one wave out there that is epic. You'll know it when you see it. All time on 3m swell and mid to low tide. Better on an out going tide.

Don't think there's much there. Alkimos probably next best to Little island.

Exactly mate. I see tune has changed from old mate now. Maybe we'll head out tomorrow if this wind comes in. I'll text you.

AUS1111 didn't ask a stupid question He was referring to 3 Mile which is a lot more full on out there.
How deep? Ranges from dry reef to 10m and probably deeper in places depending on tide. Reckon you and plumberbutt need to get a tour guide out there. Follow someone through the reef first. Heading out with glare on water you'll definitely lose fins.

I spent about 2 hours out the back of little island on Thursday 4.7 perfect powered. Then sailed the break about 400 meters south of island great swell and wind kept increasing was only one out there. a few kiters, but the rest of the time solo but was one of the best and scariest days for awhile can be spooky at times , and yes I carry a phone etc. Had a great encounter with these little Black sea birds as well skimming and picking up plankton I guess, they were flying about a meter from the nose of my board at high speed, the most incredible flyers ever even dipping there wings into the water. I don't thing many people go out there these days to frightened !!Chickens There have been no seals on the island for a long time, most probably something has had them for dinner even though I have sailed there for over 20 years haven't seen one yet!! On a good southerly the best spot in Perth. :)
