Curious to know - what do these LTs set you back? Might try and get into this next season

I think that approximates the current fully rigged price. Call Greg Johns at Windgenuity in Sydney or Mike Galvin in Perth. Mike still has a few left I understand in Perth.

Please find race weekend report below.

Windsurfer state titles

Sunday 17th of Feb 2019 saw the First round of state title races held in Perth in
Decades.
The races where held at the home of the Western Australian fleet - Mounts Bay Sailing Club.
19 sailors registered for the first round of 3 races including 1 woman (Jade Lane)
And several Younger WAIS champion junior sailors who have literally jumped into the class in the last couple of months on the older style boards.
Ages ranged from 17 to 71!!! With an average age of 49.
Weights ranged from 60kg to 99kg.
The days conditions was perfect for racing with winds in
THe first race around 8/10 knots and building to 15/17 for the last race.
Courses where windward and returns with a spreader mark at the top of the course and gates at the bottom and a downwind finish.

Race 1 saw 1 sailor opt for a port tack pin end start and cross the field and a dsq to another for missing the spreader mark.
Results
Kelvin usher (LT)
Rome Featherstone (old board)
Steve Schneider (LT)

Race 2 saw the return of the legendary Nick Poll!!
He nailed the start and never looked back...he did have a slight discretion near the top mark but performed a beautiful 360 for exoneration! With no real loss of speed!
Results
Nick Poll
Mike Galvin
Gordon Salvage

Race 3
Had the same result for Nick with another start to finish performance
In a breeze which was consistently 15knots and a little over.
Results
Nick Poll
Mike Galvin
Denis Jones

Overall for the day
Nick Poll
Denis Jones
Caelin Winchome
Rome Featherstone
Steve Schneider
Ian Lane

Caelin (19) and Rome (19) both are young dinghy champions from different classes
And have taken to the Old windsurfer board with great determination!!
It's great to see top Juniors sailing these boards and even more impressive making the older boards perform very competitively!! Heaven help us old buggers when they
Eventually get on the new boards!

Back at the beach there was the usual exchange of excuses, laughs and descriptions of ailments!with all enjoying beers and pizzas in the bar afterwards.
Needless to say the day was unforgettable for all.

A brief drone video to follow shortly

Windsurfer Crew
please get your numbers sorted before the next races.
ie both sides of the sail- see below.
This should help avoid any issues
with officials guessing numbers
at the starts and the finishes.

In addition you will need your own compliant life jacket.
The club will not be lending out jackets going forward.

Link to Australian Windsurfing Association Sail Number Register - www.windsurfing.org/sailnumbers.htm
When you join the Windsurfer Class or WWA you are automatically assigned a sail number. You can request a number but check the register first to see if it is available.

Thanks Tim, most of the sailors are using their hull numbers as directed by Greg Johns.
