Hello everyone, In a few days I'm moving to Australia. During the first 5 month I'll be linving in Melbourne, but after that I am thinking to moving to Perth. How is it to windsurf during winter and spring all around western Aust.??? is it windy or I need to wait until next summer?? Are there good spots during winter?

Thanks you !!

Gonna get a smack from the east coast crew now lol - but I think WA is ideal due to great summer but acceptable winter. At least in Perth u can sail maybe once every week in winter especially if you have bigger gear.

Downside I guess is you need wave gear with 4.0 up to freeride with say 8.5 to make the most of it (in winter).
OTOH if you do something else for a few months, who cares, the summer with 4mths of sailing 3x a week makes up for it...?

I love sailing around Perth in Winter.
Heaps of options. i don't sail big gear - biggest sail is 5.8.
Winter fronts are fun. generally starts with a mild 20knt NW intesitying through the westerlies with lighting and thunder then swings to the south with heaps of pressure and swell.
But summer is where it's at. Boardies and seabreezes. followed by some beers.
Yeew!
