Duotone video said wanted a more streamlined fuse and could get stiffness and strength needed from aluminium but not carbon (thought it was other way around). Acknowledged set up needed to be dismantled and washed in fresh water after every use. and was also cheaper,

From what I understand, you will still need to buy a new fuse when switching from all to carbon, since the mast-fuse connection is different (flat with 3 screws for the carbon masts, 3D shape with 2 screws for alu masts). They only changed the material of the fuses that go with the carbon mast, and now have two different and incompatible types of alu fuses.

Yes, while the alloy mast/fuse use a pocket connection, and the carbon mast uses a saddle system, it is good at least that all their older and new foil wingsets are compatible with either. And they now have a much broader range of foil options than a year or two ago.

What are you trying to do? If you want to move from an aluminium system to all carbon a few Fanatic systems are still available at 40% off (in UK anyway), and you can carry on using existing Aero wings. New Duotone masts etc are rebranded Fanatic ones. However, moving forward Duotone are discontinuing carbon fuses and have introduced a replacement range of aluminium fuses but advise you dismantle and rinse after every sea-session.

I want a wider range of foil wings.

What do you mean by wider range? Duotone now has a pretty wide range with Carve dlab, carve sls, Free sls , Glide sls and also the Lift. sizes go from 500 to 2400 cm2
i would say there is a perfect foil in there depending what you are looking for and conditions you ride in

Yeah right. I had a look on the Duotone site the other day and from memory the range was as limited as what it was about a year ago. I don't know I missed all the new stuff but thanks for letting me know. Gonna have another look now. And by range I meant from really small to large with evenly spaced increments in sizing in between ( a good range) , for wind foiling and winging.
