Their suggested wind ranges seem out of touch with reality. Sure, I can go in 7Kn with a 4M... if I just want to taxi back and forth on my knees

Actually, I'd probably need closer to 10Kn...

I think it says 'On Land', so maybe with a skateboard? lol.

I see they are using the brake line pulley as well. Would be interesting to hear the feedback on that as far as how it handles the depower.

I was wondering when FS were coming to the party. Used their kite foils back in the day. They know what they are doing especially regarding mixers.

That's reasonably priced. The asymmetrical bar and lines is different to anything else I've seen.

A friend could hold it on land, seems to be very stable, pulleys work fine - the middle fixing point is adjustable, lot of power, the 2.5 can be compared to the 4m2 roger - same as in the beginning of kiting - difference between projected and laid out.... FS knows how to biuld kites and paraglider (skywork) - but we realy dont have the right spots here in austria for downwind-swell riding. FS wants it to be used on water and land, with inlineskates with anything - so the marketing-message

For flying I understand the pulley-systems like Flysurfer and Naish are using in the parawings, but doesn't it interfere with the ease of stashing and redeploying your parawing?
I'm rather clumsy with lines (quit kiteboarding because it was getting too annoying and dangerous for me ;-)), so any problem with tangling lines will be frequented.

Someone is going to tell me I'm an idiot (I probably am), but what about some sort of ring around the lines at each end of the bars (where they all come together). Slide the ring up towards the bridles to manage the lines any time you are going to depower and stow. I'm also wary of all the lines (coming from kiting and having some very sketchy experiences) and wonder if this would help manage things.

I hope these are not made in China, as the pricing just doubled overnight to folks in the USA

can anyone find a video on someone stashing the POW in a bag?

or is the fabric too thick to stash?

it is a 1 hour video on the POW in French.

A few things important to mention:

- very good low end, it has also been tested by a 95kg rider. He says the 2,5 has more power then the 3m Ozone. They tested a lot of brands and find the POW to have the best range but maybe a little more sensitive then the Ozone so not for complete beginners.

- range:
73kg rider 83L ML F-one: 4m 11-20knots, 2,5m 17-30 knots, 1,7m he thinks from 25 knots
95kg rider big board: 4m 15-25 knots, 2,5m 22-35 knots

Theo (the guy from FS) speaks about bigger sizes in the near future. They decided to bring asap a few sizes to the market without disturbing too much their production line.

- no real info on the stowing except you can use smaller sizes...

- they say for PW the foil is the most important to get going, compared to winging where the board is more important

- they all use around 30gr/m2 canopy now

- FS will release a leash that you will be able to attache at the back of the bar for beginners or on land, OR at the front and because the POW is "auto-flying", it will make it possible to let go the bar and ride a wave (surf, not DW) with the PW staying at the zenith, then grab it again. They see this as an evolution of the sport besides the pure DW

- some brands will make a stash belt with one big pocket to stow the PW and another one, smaller, to bring another size properly packed.

;-)

makes me suspicious.

Yeh just some water blotched out average go pro footage
going along in a straight line. What a terrible video. Looks stable enough - as i'd expect from FS.

After watching that, I'm still leaning towards the Ozone Pocket Rocket as my first PW.

Just ordered mine (pocket rocket). I was getting too much paralysis from analysis so just sent it. Now I've got to pick out it's custom colours- this might take another few weeks....

Yeah I hear you. I'm about to pull the trigger as well. Colour not the issue, more the size. 3.6m or 4.3?

I quite liked the look of the Flysurfer PW but the pulley and the seeming indifference of the guy selling it on the vid wasn't enough to sway me. Plus I was always an Ozone person when I was kite foiling. Moving to FS would be traitorous.

Yeah total newby to either so colour is the most important thing :=) I've been listening to a lot of podcasts from the designers- Dan was speaking to the ozone guy who said he would advise to go smaller. He is a ex kite racer though. He also said they looked at the pulley system etc & didn't think it was worth it. My decision came down to the review by Gav of the Ozone & frankly the price. I really like the BRM & was pretty sold on it after listening to Greg however Ozone are by far the cheaper over here.
FWIW I'm 85kgs & gone for the 4.3m. There is a local very good foiler that got a D wing 4.2 & is struggling to get it up in our conditions so I don't know, it could end up in the bin after a few months.
I figured I'm getting the hang of this winging thing after afew yearsso maybe it's time to level back down to kook again.

That's interesting re. the 4.2 D-Wing not being enough. What's your average wind speed over there?
