Does anyone know the story of how winging came to be? I know Naish was (somehow) first to market but Tony Logosz has said there were SlingShot Protos in the works far before that.

Was it a piece of kit a few companies had half baked but nobody knew what to do with it until surf foiling made a foil big enough to make use of the power?

Also super curious about the intellectual property at play. Who owns what IP and who pays royalties to who?

Airush designers Mark Pattison and Clinton Filen came up with a inflatable wing with a T-Boom design in 2011 or 2013 and even had a patent pending. They tried to use it with a twin-tip and directional kite-board but found they needed 30kn plus to get going so it was left in attic until 2019 when Clinton asked Armin, Oscar and myself to give it a go on our surf-foil boards.
