40year prone surfing, 30year windsurfing, mainly wavesailing, windsurffoiled 2year, 20year sup: both race and waves, winging since oct 2020 and hooked.
I,m probably the best at wave sailing followed by Sup and hardly prone anymore but most fun nowadays: wing.
Why:To get the adrenaline rush from wave sailing I need at least side-off 4.7 with pristine 2m and up waves otherwise i get bored. it might sounds spoiled, but its a bit of been there done that and I need a serious storm with huge waves to get the adrenaline pumping and that won't happen on a weekly basis.
Sup: I love to sup in clean waves from chest high to triple overhead with big barrels but living in the Netherlands also means we have the ****** UK blocking our waves so most of the time its absolute crap over here anbd our very gradually rising seabottom instead of a decent reef won,t help either in making the most out of what comes through!
The holidays are spend at the better wavespots, but there are still more weeks at home as on holiday.

a pic of what we call a good day.
That is where wingfoil is genius: it makes lame conditions awesome.
You only need a light breeze to have heaps fun. We have ****ty waves, but quite often decent size windswell that you can ride with a wingfoil. Dead onshore what happens quite often is awesome: fly a 1km upwind and downwind riding the swell back to the beach and repeat. Even on the lakes we can ride the bumps, so finally a sport that really suit my local conditions!
Numbers of 2021:144 days spend in/on the water including holidays:
109 Wingfoil sessions
27 Sup
14 windsurfSome days I do multiple sports.Without wingfoil I would more often Sup in windy conditions or wave sail in light wind in crap, but even taking that in account it doubled+ my Tow.
