Hello, does anybody have any experience with these two. I'm on 2140 and was wondering if it's worth it to get the 1400. I'm a decent beginner, ~84kg, mostly in the lakes, 13-20knts. Maybe the smaller one would be faster for those stronger days. Thanks

I have both and keep going back to the big 2140HA in all conditions because of its very low take-off speed and pretty good top speed (for me).. I also like the added stability because I'm old and around 100kgs..

The 1400 is a little faster but I didn't notice a huge difference but it definitely needs a higher speed before take-off.. It's also noticeably less stable than the 2140..

Right now I'm really enjoying the 2000MA because it has all the good features of the 2140 but turns much better.. I love the low stall speed of these bigger foils and top speed is not a priority for me..

Agree with David John and I also have the 2140 and 1400, but sold my 1800. Back in 2022/23 those foils were great and I enjoyed riding them in different winds and conditions. I still have my 2140 and 1400 in the garage but haven't used them for over a year.

The development in foils, wings and boards in the last 2 years has been incredible, so I'd suggest you look at the 1400 or 1240. It will also help with your learning of gybes and tacks due to the increased speed and better low end stall speed.
Staying on the Naish platform, the new foils fit onto the old fuselage, so you may get a good deal on the Jet 1440 or 1240.

I'm not into speed runs and prefer more cruise and carve, but the last time I rode my 2140 I had to stop to check that I didn't have a chunk of seaweed wrapped around the mast...I didn't :-)

I do.
But I'm not back in Australia until Christmas. If you're still looking for one then, it's yours. I also have a 914 and the previous 1040 that can be cleared from my garage.

I rode naish foils until recently and also weigh around 82kg naked. I had the 1800 as my biggest front wing. That was fine to learn on but honestly after the initial stages and with just very mediocre pumping technique there was no need for these huge front wings anymore. Trust your abilities, you can easily use the 1400 as your light wind wing, under 10kts no problem. I'd suggest you take either that or the newer 1440 for light wind and a 1040 for stronger conditions.

Thank you all for the advice. Just got the s27 ha1240, hopefully it'll work out. Nervous it's gonna be too small ??

I had that wing, it was my allrounder. It works easily from about 10-11kts no problem, probably could do even less.

So I took my new ha1240 out yesterday. What a fun foil, surprisingly, feels like it has more lift and glide. Pure joy
