Which gloves work best? I normally have 3 finger gloves for my wingfoil sessions, but imagine with parawing lines etc, collapsing, aligning the leading edge battens that I'll need gloves with a bit more feel.

Keen to hear experiences of what works best 🙏

Palmless mitts, flip them back when needed. Layer over thick dishwashing gloves

I’ve used these for 2 season and they’re great: soliteboots.com/products/4-3-wind-paddle-split-mitt?_pos=6&_sid=e0787f359&_ss=r

I’ve used the 4/3 in the coldest conditions where riding becomes not possible because Parawings & boards just become covered in ice. My hands stay warm. I attribute this to the more loose fit and stretchy material.

Not sure how cold you’re going but they have a 3/2 version too with 5 fingers.

Pre-curved is the most important part for me. Cuts down on hand fatigue like crazy. I’m a back line guy using BRM so stow is pretty easy.

Thanks both!
To your question FTG, the plan is to go on the water till it's impossible (because the water freezes).. so for sure at zero Celcius there will still be action on the water , and after that it will be wing or parawing with iceskates!

I've had the chance to use these (4:3 Wind/Paddle Split-Mitt) a few times now in 4 celsius, both with a wing and a parawing, and so far they're the best mittens I've tried. I've tested well over a dozen different gloves and mittens for wingfoiling.

I don't think Solite's other models are particularly good, but these are very pre-curved and fit really well. The palms aren't actually sticky, despite what they claim, but the grip is good enough thanks to the excellent pre-curve.

What I don't know yet is how long they'll stay waterproof. That's usually the other big problem with gloves and mittens – they rarely last a full season without starting to leak.

I wear a 6/5mm hooded wetsuit and 5/6mm boots and combine that wirh Oneill Psychotech 1.5mm gloves. They last maybe 4months but those thin gloves are the only thing that doesnt give me armcramps.
The equavalent of Ripcurl works well too in 2mm but the thicker variant cramps :(

Oneill:

Btw: tip for rather cheap bu flexible and warm hooded wetsuits in europe: Gul! gul.com/products/viper-654-yamamoto-gbs-hooded-steamer?variant=55725078905156
It feels very much like an premium oneill, maybe a slightly less tight fit
