I've ridden both the 6M CWC and the 6M Matador LT extensively.
-Power wise, I'd say they are even, but the CWC has a larger sweet spot for pumping.
-Handles, the Matador wins hands down, super comfy and stiff, you can jibe w one hand flick whereas the CWC is kinda noodles and you have to be aggressive.
-Upwind, slight edge to CWC w it's smaller LE, but it's close.
-Downwind, slight edge to Matador as it pulls like a train
-Jumping, tie. Except that the CWC handles have a lot of play in them so I don't feel the direct pull and float as you do w the Matador.
-Flagging, Matador. It just parks and doesn't ever start the death wobble. CWC is close second, but you can hold both on beach and see for yourself which one starts rocking first.
-Tacks, CWC rocks w it's neutral float. What makes the Matador park so well is a slight pull downward, which takes adjusting to for tacks.
-Construction, edge to Naish w more robust materials and more reinforcement. But CWC is excellent. I don't like the 4 extra valves that come w micro-struts, I've had two fail on me.
I will say if you go for a 7, the CWC in this size would be hard to beat.
One unbiased Average Joe's take.
What do you contribute the larger sweet spot for pumping too?
Lighter weight maybe? I've only used a 7m CWC once in boarder-line wind. It seemed to float when my 7m Slick would have been resting on the water. Which makes think I could pump it sooner in lighter wind than my Slick.
I've been optimisticlly waiting for a newer version of the 8m CWC with better handles, but I'm afraid that won't be coming very soon as the demand for these current CWC's does not seem to be letting up.
The 2023 Gong SuperPower looks like they could be very good option for light wind too, but I suspect they won't pump as early as the CWC ether.
