I mostly ride F-One strikes. Love their 4.5, super stable , great for flagging. Their 3.5 is great as well although a little less stable. When winds are getting over 25 knots I will switch to 2.8. However it is super twitchy , not stable when trying to get going. Curious if others have found the same and found other wings in the 3.0 and smaller size that are more stable?

Something like that was mentioned here: www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Wing-Foiling/Wind-Wings/Can-a-wing-be-too-rigid--

My experience comes from a single wing (Ullman Osprey 3.2) and it is much more twitchy and unstable than my 4.5 Ensis. Since I didn't test any other brand's small wing, from my personal experience, I can't say if all would behave the same. However, it seems that a similar experience is shared by a lot of other people.
I was riding that wing again, two weeks ago and the feeling is the same but I am glad I did have a small wing for such a strong wind.

I've found the same with my Ensis spins and a friend of mine says the same on his F1 strikes.
I have the 4.6-3.6-2.6 , only used the 2.6 4or 5 time but have found it really twitchy, on/off feel. With the 2.6 I feel like you don't generate much pressure in the wing when pumping up onto foil it's just either enough in the gust or not.
maybe my lack of experience but I favour being overpowered on my 3.6 than using 2.6 , unless it's crazy windy .

2.6 Ensis Spin works just fine in quite low wind already. A few examples:

With a 840 cm2 front wing. Not much wind:

A bit windier day:

Again, a rather quiet day:

And one more clip with a 3.0 that feels just wonderful. I can't speak for all brands (haven't tried all haha) but I'd say if a wing starts to act up in stronger winds it's partly the riding technique and more likely just a time to switch to a smaller wing.

I agree. Really don't enjoy using smaller wings (my smallest is a 2.8) except for windwinders when its
mostly flagged. My next small wing will be 3-3.3 ish I'm thinking.

I have a 2.5 Armstrong and 3m KT. KT is much better behaved though the Army is a twitchy little rocket (fun/reactive).

I agree. A friend of mine switched all his wings Strike V2 after demoing my setup. He is smaller/lighter than me so instead of the 3.5 I suggested the 3.0 for him for windier days.

He really had hard time with that wing in the first 3 sessions, same complaint as the OP. He's very comfortable with
it now.

My 3m strike v2 is a joy, way nicer to handle in tough conditions than my old 2.5 endis score.

Was out in 46knots with it the other day.

I have only used a smik v1 3.5m and a PPC Surge 2.8m so not as small as some others. I haven't found them to be twitchy. The 2.8m ppc is really well behaved and solid in high winds. Love the flagging out on a small wing in big winds!!

One other reason your wings may feel twitchy is when the wind is over 35 knots it's usually gusty frontal wind so it would make any setup feel twitchy.

For me at 70kg my ensis scores work better at lower pressure. Ensis recommends 6-8 psi.
Especially my 2.8 behaves much better with 5-6 psi: More stable, less twitchy!

That makes me feel better about mine . I have a 3.1 ensis spin and im like when the wind is all funny and gusty.
