A bit of fun today in the Southerly. One of those days when you rig the 6m, but then the wind kicks in, so you pack it away and rig the 3.6m only for the wind to then back off during the session. So you come back in and re-rig the 6m only for the wind to really kick in .

I was super lit on the 6m, well into the 20kn+, good bumps and lots of sideways rain.

Here's a quick edit from the less raining parts.

Riding the Hover 110, Jet 1240HA/310HA/85cm and 6m Wing-Surfer.

I started on a 5, went to a 4 and finally ended on a 3. Some of the rain squalls were over the top and fun.

Yep, she kicked in hard, I was plenty lit on the 6m. No many still standing when the squalls came through. Super fun!

Thx DJ. That was your wingtip mount. Worked a treat .

No standard 64cm fuselage and stab all the way back and using the 310HA over the 280HA. I was also on the 85cm mast which again lessens your manoeuvrability, but a must when it is this choppy for upwind. So if anything I stiffened her up a little, but foiling is all about flow, even with all these settings that make the foil "less" lose, you can still flow into awesome turns and tight arcs by understanding flow and howe hard you can and can't push it.

As a bigger rider I prefer the 310HA over the 280HA stab, I urge you to try it if you're over 85kg on all foils, even the LA ones - soo good. I only really go to the 280HA on the 810 Kite foil when it is nuking.

Super fun and thanks again for the epic mount DJ, that last mod gives me way more confidence to use it even on hectic days like yesterday.

Ride safe,

JB

Nice vid JB - you're S-turning the swells downwind using wing power i.e. not parking the wing?

Similar to how we windfoil downwind

Yes, if the bumps are small or too slow I like to "wave-sail" down wind. Actually just as much fun (sometimes more).
