La Nina has provided us with a very ordinary summer and spring. We seldom saw the reliable NorEasterlies we generally get in the hotter months. Now that Covid is mostly slowing down, I'm considering a short break overseas. Where is a good place to get reliable moderate onshore winds during our Autumn/Winter without big swells that won't cost an arm and a leg? Bali, Thailand, Fiji?

Interested to hear any suggestions.

Thanks.
PS Will probably fly with my board and gear rather than rent.

Mauritius is a good option. Long way to go from the east coast though.

Wasn't really comparing to anything but maybe Fiji seeing as you asked.

I went to Fiji last year & am heading back there again this July.
I was advised to try Natadola- beautiful bay but no wind. Ended up on the tiny island of Nanui-i-ra to the North, where there was consistent 15 knots every day. I can highly recommend McDonalds Cottages for v reasonably priced accommodation. I've heard Safari Lodge is good too.

That's literally the only place I can think of that works that time of year and is closer. Maybe Green Island?

Listening to a podcast with the guy from North. He was raving about the Phillipines where they do development testing. Used to be such a popular place in the 80's - really cheap but you don't hear much about it now.

But what time of the year? I asked my coworker from there and he said it's windless during summer.
