I have not foiled as yet, but I do have my 1st try at it orgainized soon. Can you ride waves in all wind directions as Im thinking if Im correct that you let the wing luff in the wind while on a wave, or does this sound like trash. Basically asking if you can ride waves in both on shore, and off shore, or is a particular wind direction better for waves riding. Long way to go before that happens, yes I know.

You can definitely ride waves in both onshore and offshore winds. So far I have only had the opportunity to ride onshore and sideshore winds but plenty of vids of people riding waves very nicely in offshore conditions.

I think the main limitation is that you can't easily ride straight down wind straight at the wing but if you ride at an angle to the wind the wing luffs nicely.

Straight onshore is hardest especially if a bit light. The wing does strange things as you go faster then slower than the wind as you turn on the wave.
