From a safety point-of-view I think windows are a good idea, however many claim that windows are basically useless so why bother. I found a video of someone winging and from the camera angle (mounted on his helmet) the windows give a clear view of what's downwind. Maybe the location of the windows makes all the difference. What do you think? Here's the video.

Basically they are useless to see where you need to see. The leading edge and strut blocks that view. Frequent lifting and looking behind before you gybe covers most angles better. They add weight, flex and are a weak point.

Useless extra weight

Helpful in crowded areas. Can always lift to check, but having more options are better.

I like them on the Armstrong A-Wing and have actually used them. I like to ride my wing low so can usually use them without shifting the wing. I agree as durability and weight come into the equation you're probably better without. I do think beginners should be encouraged into getting windows for safety.

Cabrinha offers a choice with their new wing (window or no window) -- maybe that's the solution.

No windows, I had a wing with windows once and never used them so really didn't see the point. Now we make our own wings and we went with no windows and have never needed them.
Definitely no need way out in the ocean for DW and in the flat just lift it up as others have said easy as!
