Taranaki region would be my go to. 270 degrees of wind options within an hour and amazing easy waves. Base yourself at Oakura and explore up and down coast from there.

Taranaki is a fairly rough, rocky and unforgiving coastline for winging. If you know what you're doing in waves, it's the place to be. If you are not an expert just yet, I would recommend Wellington. I'd head north of Auckland for warm sunny conditions and a load of locations to choose from, particularly Whangaporaoa peninsular and north of there. South of Auckland I'd go Raglan west coast or roll the dice for east coast Bay of Plenty and Hawke's Bay, just about anywhere. Just got back from a visit to Hawke's Bay and there's so many awesome wing-foiling locations but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone else out. It's a warm spot like Nelson in the South Island, picks up a lot of sun and grows loads of yummy fruit.

It's pretty warm... i prefer being a little on the warm side but that time of the year i'll usually go out in board shorts and a rashguard unless there's a strong wing with some windchill kicking in in which case i'll throw on a windbreaker.

If you do head down to the South Island make sure you go and check out Lake Clearwater.

great shallow lake 5km long 1km wide and great for wind. Accommodation is in holiday homes around the lake. Mazda CX5 in chch for our international guests wanting to use the house on the lake :)

Not the best conditions. Pretty light wind (9-15 knots). But with my mid length and a 6m wing I could have a session.

Can anyone give advice pls on where to head in/around Ragland with these winds? Incl where I can pull up with my campervan?
