Stoked with my new beaut. And got her in the water today. Got wet quite a lot, but surfs so well.

Hey Lazarus, nice looking board mate. Seeing that photo with Table Mountain in the background brings back fond memories of the 10 months I spent there in '84. Awesome waves, friendly people and beautiful place. Must be a great place for SUP I would imagine with all those good reef breaks.

Do you know a guy called Nikki Carsens? I notice he won the first SUP comp there in Cape Town late last year. He was World Waveski champ one year. PM me if you know his contact if you don't mind as was a mate of mine back then.

That board looks sick, would love to have a go on that !!

Yep. Went out on milnerton lagoon yesterday and out a little at the mouth. Only second time on that board, but got the paddling better and feel more confident on it now. Doubt I want to go back on flat water tho - a bit dull. Surf was too big for me as I am not that experienced on a sup (only been about a dozen times on the sup and only in small 1-3 foot waves). Also, looks like monster surf coming in this weekend, but I will be out at big bay or kamers once things settle down a bit. I think I chose a good board and had to gently twist Ivan's arm to get a woody, even if the board is on the short side (and the woodys are slightly heavier).

Ivan says he is trying to sort things out to have his boards available in Oz.

With wave heights of 9.3m, pleased I will be asleep between 02h and 05h on Sunday morning.
