Went to Lancelin on Saturday,Tried a double front, overcranked the kite and landed hard on the water, bounce, crack goes a coupla of ribs, out for the rest of the season. I urge anyone who is going big and getting spinny to learn from my F#@kup. Was actually at the shop looking at impact vests just before my session, but they all look kooky and uncomfortable. All I want is a vest with a rigid front/back panel which will fit North styler waist harness. No camel packs, flares or other bull****.. Anyone out there with any suggestions????

Ive got 6 weeks to save up.

The nevin swat one has a hole in the front and is on special as it is a 2005. Fulltilt should be able to help you out.

Hey, it's all good and well having an impact vest but make sure whatever you get it is also has boyancy. I've had mine made by Wing Wetsuits to my requirements so that my waist harness fits nicely under it. I know you're in WA but they may know someone your side who can help you out.

Hope you get better soon.

I like my camel back bull****! Having a drink with you on the water is sweet.. I like to fill it with with red cordial, have a swig after a big stack, then spit it out if front of my mates while rolling round groanin.. makes your wipeout look *really* gnarly.

Sorry to read about your mishap at Lano Dave........... I always speak about the dam injuries in this sport. Doing a double front in nuking conditions with a 12m, you are a sic man; but that is how you got so good so fast. 6 weeks rest and the memories of the pain will slow you down.

Get well soon....see you on the water very soon no doubt, an impact vest during healing sounds like a good idea.

Thanks everyone for their imput..... Found out that its more like 3 months before I can go fully sick agan as we are doing an impact sport... Its alright to go to a part-time GP for a sick certificate and pain killers but thats it... Dont take advice from jack of all trades master of none, 2 week sport injury management course useless GP. anyone else with broken ribs surfing, kitesurfing?? What was the REAL down time? anyone know of an impact vest with nylon ribbing like wakeboarding ones not just neoprene....... Mabe I should just buy a flack jacket from the TRG.....A to the K homeboy
