I am a beginner with 2 months practice including lessons taken. I kite around perth and want to know if a 13m fuel is a good kite for a beginner in Perth conditions. I weigh 76 kgs and at present have a 10m airush flow 04 model which I find is unpredictable at times and I seem to have a lot of trouble persuading it to go upwind. The Fuel seems to be a lot more user friendly and predictable when I watch them from the beach and looks a safer and easier kite to use.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

imho 04/05 11m would be ideal
06 13 would be ok but much more expensive

13m is way too big. I'm a little heavier and most of my kiteing is done on a 9m Fuel. Good sea breezes (above 20knots) will get you cranking on a 9m and be more than you need or want at 25knots until you've got a good few months under your belt. 11m will be fine, but you'll probably be over powered from around 22knots, and that is probably 75% of sea breezes.

If your interested ive got a 2005 13m fuel for sale $1000. Excellent kite, really stable and easy to relaunch. Give me a call if you want to have a look (shannon 0400040153).

10m Flow is a great kite for learning in Perth as many people have found. Possible other issues could be the kite set up or even the board.
A 13m is way to big for learning at this time of year. It can be deceptive watching someone else in the water as you can not be sure of there set up, weight, board, experience, etc.
I would be more than happy to check out your kite setup and lend you a board to see if that fixes your problems.
Drop in at Airborne Kitesurfing at any time.
