hey guys whats the story with the ramp left on the sandbar in the Southport broadwater?

Im assuming you couldnt tow it in?? and that it wasnt left there purposely??

Im hoping its not a new landmark surely, as you would have to guess the council or whoever will point the finger at recreational water users in general, ie kiters and windsurfers as both being guilty of leaving this thing out there.

But, then if its open slather Im sure I could build a special low tide motocross track out there as well, just got to transport some bikes out there

The old Ski Ramp has been out at that spot for about 7 Years.

The last time I can recall it being used was for a Jet Ski jumping competition down in the waterway in front of Pacific Fair many years ago.

A mate of mine came to grief in that jump, breaking his ankle badly and stoving in the bow of the ski.

Wouldn't like to attempt to use the ramp now as it is very very dilapidated.

Interesting, seeing as that particular area has been a windsurfing spot well before kiteboarding was even a sport, and was named by windsurfers back when there was an old train sitting near the carpark...

I wonder what it takes to get all watersports (including both windsurfing and kiting) banned from that location by council? Some angry fisherman with a hole in his boat?

someone is a bit confused, im not talking about the waterski ramp, im talking about the timber ramp left on the middle sandbar, specifically made for kiteboarding.

MD74 tidal issue my arse! it was moved to a better location so kooks like yourself didn't get any crazy ideas !!

I came down from brisbane today and went to lodgers creek and there was a rider out there that was plain dangerous,naish kite, helmet, mid 40's. He was coming in too much out of control and i thought he was an accident waiting to happen. I then went to runaway bay and a few guys were riding well even a local girl with piercings was riding harder than Mr Naish.
