I feel that there has to be a meeting to discuss what is going on with pelican point, in order to increase the safety of kiters/ pedestrians, and other issues that have risen in the past. People have been talkin about them but there hasnt been any action.

Lets change this and get something happening!!

Anyone that is keen to have afew brews and talk about the issues, or even to catch up with other kiters, come down to Steves Pub in Nedlands, on Monday 15 March. Regulars down there please show up because we need maximum input in order to keep minimum issues arising.

Cheers,
Richi

One suggestion.

Can Ian (PP) take his learners a bit further out along the Point.

When I learnt last year he took as out near the fence. He also suggested when we get gear to start by going right out to the end of the Point so we were out of the way.

Now, the lessons are right in the busiest part on the line you need to go after launching and when you come in.

Also, I have noticed a number of learners who have just gone out and bought a new kite with no idea what they are doing and launching in crazy conditions just in front of the wall. This creates a danger for them, other kiters, and pedestrians walking on the path.

Perhaps if lessons are conducted further out (where they used to be) this will encourage learners to also go down that way rather than trying to fly a kite in gusty, sh1tty, busy onshore conditions.

Is someone gunna post a time and then have a show of hands to see who is gunna be turning up? I reckon this will be a great idea and get the people who care about keeping Peli Point safe and free from some council ruling together.
I noticed the other day that some guy was taking pictures around there and he didn't look like he was there for the sport so................it's in our own hands.

Hi guys

there's a post in the peli point meeting thread under the WAKSA forum suggesting that we hold the meeting in two weeks.

that would be monday 29th... at 7pm as originally intended i assume.

at least that will give everyone interested a chance to rock up, and the committee fellas to come along as well, obviously it should be a must that they're involved.

anyway, have a look on that other post, make comments about it there??
