Rev has 5 struts (not 9), no battens, compact bridle. Its the colour scheme thats decieving, compare a pic of both kites and they look pretty different.guess we will have to wait and see. Apparently its sick

The rev and the link are two totally different kites, I didn't like the link that much at all. As to much hybrid bow feel, and heaps of strutts and battens bomb proof but heavy. The Rev is a C kite feel with bow re launch. The Kites look simliar in pics due to the simliar panel colour lay out. But trust me when I say they are so diffenert in the air.. Get your self a go on one to find out..

thanks for the pics cjcos2
wow its looks great, from the pics it looks like a kinda cross between a link and a TD, more concave on the trailing/leading edge.
what do ya recon guys?? light bar pressure, grunty bottom end?? i found the Link to be abit lacking in the bottom end, but loved the bar pressure and speed.
i currently ride TD1,s, but am looking for something with lighter bar pressure/more stable.

they are definitely continuing with the fuels
petty hard to give up such a good kite
I dont think you will see too many changes in the 08 fuel
although some tweaks with the bar set up -

So did you pump it up and check it out? remember the safety below the bar isn't a fifth line. ( don't pull it in to depower ) :-)

Wah WahWee Wah! Ok first our store sells Slingshot kites and I have been riding them since they first appeared in 99. I see it as part of my duty as a store owner to thoroughly test all the equipment and understand the kites completely before I can
pass on first hand information.
I totally enjoyed my ride on the REV. I had a couple of hours at Crazy Waves
I weigh 105kg had the 11m rev 142 Jimmy Lewis Rad F Mutant
The wind was WSW a bit up and down with some light squalls up to 28kn and dropping to around 18kn .
Self Launch, Perfect! Like the T2 the kite will turn on the spot and launch from the face down position with sand on top.
When the kite was in the air it was stable with no quirks.
The first couple of tacks I struggled to gain as much ground as I expected, it was quite onshore with big lulls, I trimmed the kite about 100mm on the power adjuster and was now rocketing up wind.
Once I was up at the waves and a comfortable distance off shore I started to let loose with it , this kite behaved well and did all I commanded of it.
I was very impressed with the turn speed and bar pressure, I have to keep reminding myself that this 11m is about the same size as a 13m Fuel .
I now have a new definition of smooth power delivery.
At one stage I dropped the bar while I was un hooked (on purpose of course) , the new safety system works a treat, it’s like a centre line safety that comes out below the bar, the kite is flagged but the bar does not tangle, It’s like a 5th line system at the bar but with way better results at the kite.
To launch the kite from the safety release flagged position, get yourself back to the bar let the safety run back through the kite take up face down position then just pull one side , the kite rolls and launches , just like the T2 , in most cases you can get it back in the air in a few seconds.
The bridal is quite different to all the SLE kites I have flown so far this has a lot to do with easy relaunch characteristics.
Jumping . Well I can tell you it does go big . I did not fell like I wanted to go flat out and swing her in the winds we were getting , I was easy getting 25’ just from parking the kite off the wave , nice timing and hang floaty landings , all good.
Self landing easy, Same as T2. Land on the edge of the window, Grab and pull front top line , the kite settles into the safe position
This is going to be a great option for a lot of people this year,
Im hanging out to try the 7m & 9m I feel like I wont be able to sleep until I do.
Well That’s what I reckon , Come and try it for yourself
