I am heading down to Margs this weekend - I am taking the kite also, however i have no clue on what spots are available. I am not after death reefs or surfing bombs! Can anyone recommend there favorite spots?

I have seen some kites out at Smiths...

Dude , if you dont have this area "Wired" during the summer, dont even bother in the winter unless you have a death wish. Please do the wine trail instead.
I would love to tell you where is "kinda safe" (no beach, heavy shore break) on N NW But Marty will have my guts for garters.

www.wannasurf.com/spot/Australia_Pacific/Australia/WA/index.html

that should let u know, ppl upload their fave spots with pics and descrips.

personally i wouldnt recommenend down south now for kiting, but if u wanted to...i'd try The Box if ur suicidal, Threebears for a variety of waves: mama, papa and gramps. and Injies (injidup) for some nice head heighters and a massive dune system thats frequented by the local paragliding contingent.

With the current swell, it is scary down there at times.

Just north off redgate beach (you walk down a steep cliff) is a nice spot that blocks most swell - although you can tack out to the surf... quite nice to get into it (Follow the little gravel road off the main paved one just before redgate beach parking lot...)

...yes, it is scary and I have only kited there a couple of times...

Edit: This spot has quite a bit of beach

Sorry, I have no idea about your skill level, so not assuming anyting, but it was tricky to get out at Margs itself and I followed some local guys (Chris). Need to be quite confident down there... it just feels heavier overall

If its N, N-W you cant kite safely from the farm to busso, theres many beaches with little bays, next to no swell and not many rocks.
Kn cold though...

maybe NIAL can post on the entire spots for WA so kooks can drop in everywhere and there are no more quiet spots.

Cheers for the suggestions guys.

I hit the surf instead this morning before the Northerly winds kicked in. We had a fun sized keg session at Gas bay.

I am heading out for a scout around for somewhere to kite this afternoon, hopefully I will see some kites in the sky. I am perfectly able in most conditions but I am not stupid enough to go out anywhere Solo.
