howdy ho kite computer nerds, i have a link, i love my link, she's a might heavy in the bottom end of things but my twelve is obedient to like twenty five, so i forgive her for her lazy light wind tendencies... here's the thing, i read this one in a previous post, but its now happened to me and its a certain death trap... the other day standing on the beach whilst trying to use the below the bar depower, my hand slipped off that stupidly small and hard to grab/control little plastic end of rope dangly thing and hit the ever so hyper sensitive chicken loop safety release, having both hands on the chicken loop rope trying to use the below the bar depower, the release happened so quick i could not grab the bar before the kite was pulled well away from me...my instant reaction was to look down wind and make sure the coast was clear, cause this baby was about to flag out and ditch itself on the shore line.... but then.... it did not flag out, it did not depower, my safety leash went taut, the kite went into full powered loops and i got dragged ass backwards down the beach at a great rate of knots... now because i am such a cool calm and collected freakin legend, i quickly pulled the last chance release and let the kite go, it rolled in the shorey a bit but thankfully took noone out... now i read in the post related to this, that its the front lines twisting, and then not being able to run free when it counts, that causes this... it seems like pretty simple R+D on slingshot behalf, but any one know of any other way to rig these beasts...? the rev is the same, the switchblade safety seems logical enough, can you rig a link with the switchblade bar and lines...?

Bow kites are incredibly safe when things work, but when things go wrong you'd better be riding the kite appropriate for the wind range.
If you ride the kite suicide (safety just above the chicken loop) and you are riding in the right wind range, the kite will depower sufficiently and theres less chance of a tangle. Most of the time the kite will stay in the air and you can just pull the safety leach reattach the chicken loop and the kite wont even get wet.
I've personally rescued and seen Cabrinhas, airushes, and flexifoils deathloop when the bridle lines got tangled around the kite.
A switchblade bar and lines should work, but check the line lengths on both kites, even 2metres in line length makes a huge difference.

today i was riding my switchblade2 unhooked.it was the first time i rode my surfboard without straps so i was using a legrope.after doing a reo i nosedived, went facefirst into the shallows, the force of the wave ripped my kite out of my hands.i then had the leg rope and the safety wrapped around my body.Even though i was all tangled up,my kite remained in the water and had no intention of taking off. This is the only kite i feel safe flying, and everyone i give a go says the same.a couple of the boys have rev's and they are good, but only after having them for a month, the depower rope is already wearing.i reckon i have had over 200 sessions with my sb2,and neither the bridle or the depower rope have had any wear.I can't understand why slingshot keep making crap bars year after year.a plastic coating around the depower rope like the cabrinha bars would solve a lot of problems, and save slingshot money.the only other kite i have seen with a plastic coated depower rope is the f-one hybrid, but then you look up at how the lines are setup and it looks like big tangled up spider webb. My advice is to throw your link in the bin and buy a sb2 or sb3,or any of the new cabrinha kites that have the powerdrive 121 bar.you won't regret it.
