Hi Everyone

Could anyone please tell me a suitable glue to use on the inner sleave of a strut?
The valve is lifting on the join to the sleave. A freind of mine has used glue in this area before but could not remember the type used.
I have loctite epoxy at home but am not sure if it is suitable?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Don't use glue, its not worth the effort (still might not work) The only glue I have found that will work is polyurethane, and it takes 7-10 hrs to cure.

Replace the valve completely with one of these

Or get some Tear Aid, cut a round hole in a secion of it and stick it over the valve. I've found a 10 cent piece is about the right size for most kite valves.
www.kitepower.com.au/catalog/product_17085_Tear_Aid_Bladder_Repair_Patches_cat_325.html

Success with this method depends on the valve area shape, if it has grooves radiating out from the valve base, probably won't work without the addition of some glue to seal these gaps that the Tear Aid cannot fill. Replace the valve option is your best bet.

Remove the old valve with hot water, peeling the old one off carefully so you don't tear the bladder.
But if you do you can Tear Aid over the whole and stick the valve to the Tear Aid or the other side of the bladder.

Avoid leaving kites in hot cars, valves will eventually come off the bladders.

u-stick suck. If you wanna do it properly i wrote a how to guide for this one time on here, you would have to search for it.
The right glue to use is "sweeda" and if you clean it all and do it right it will never come off again.

I use a flexible superglue gel for my valves. Squeeze a little bit into any gaps that are appearing, and then go around the whole valve edge. make sure you support the valve and bladder so it doesnt stick to itself inside or out (partially inflated helps).

Also put a tear-aid patch over the valve for extra strength. Cut a square piece with a hole in the middle and put it over the valve. Then peel off a corner and stick it on. Slowly peel more and more of the backing off as you apply the patch. Bit tricky and you dont get a second chance with tear-aid.

dunno how anyone who has used a ustick replacement valve properly could say that they suck. They are the bomb - foolproof in my opinion.

I've used wetsuit repair glue to stick a valve back onto a leading edge bladder and haven't had a problem since. It was a 2 part contact glue and it sticks like you know what. It's also very flexible once it's cured...
