Those aren't wakestyle bindings, are they ? ^^^
And they aren't those backless bindings either ?
They look more like lace-up gym-boots with 2" thick soles.

Yeah that's real helpful information man. Lucky you put "copyright" on the pics though so no one steals and publishes them..

I think you've missed my point Saffer.

Bindings in kiteboarding are so you can hold more power, therefore being able to ride larger boards, edging harder which equates to more pop for wakestyle moves.

Riding bindings for boosting air defeats the purpose. If boosting is your thing then bindings are going to work against you in the sense that there is added weight in any case. Not to mention it is a good way to blow a knee if you egg your landing.

I've nothing against any persons style of riding, people should ride the way they get most enjoyment from the sport, but this is a contradiction in terms.

You don't use a hammer to drill a hole do you?

I know exactly what bindings do, no need to explain, I was simply highlighting the fact that some people just enjoy riding more in bindings. There were days when the likes of Felix were riding bindings in the waves and doing very well at it as well.

Hardly an appropriate comparison with a hammer and a drill, after all, you can still jump with bindings, whether you can jump higher is likely to be dependant on the individual doing the riding rather than the bindings themselves. Ever seen Lou jump on bindings? He used to get pretty high on 2 lines with bindings.

What is it people are so narrow minded and worried about what other people are doing? Surely if the guy wants to ride bindings and jump, its his own perogative? Maybe it was just a gusty day for unhooking?

dude im not really surprised you got this answer from spruce, he probably asked this to help you out and give some constructive critism on your photography. You dont necceserly have to take it on, but instead of answering him you choose a smart ass remark. give the guy some respect he takes good kitesurfing shots.,. and to be honest.. you could use the help [}:)]

bloody hell gropper goes down to the beach and doesn't have his kite in the air... wyy? cause he gone out and taken a few snaps of people on his camera, maybe he doesn't have some huge special photographers brick instead he has maybe an olympus water proof good family camera. his choice to have some fun and comment back with a rectangluar one, lighten up and see the funny side and thank a guy for taking some snaps of people, yeh agreed they are not the best quality but maybe he put them here so people can see whats happening around the place. you dont have to have crystal clear pics to put your photoes on here is a free site. yes sprucy you can take awsome pictures and i have seen your cnstructive criticism go to good use but abbusing a guy for having some fun with maybe not the best camera is just unfair.

nice work groper yes you can improve but great that you took some pictures

The Camera wasn't even water proof. He only told me after I jump over him. I always think if your standing in the water the camera's waterproof.

Actually both a disposable camera and a regular "family" camera would probably take better shots than these. These look more like they were shot with a cellphone camera, why I raised the question. Hell, if they were shot with a cellphone camera I would probably even be impressed!

I didn't care if they're ****.. I didn't say they were bad in my first comment.. I asked what camera they were shot with. Period. Couldn't get a straight answer, that's not my fault

Like I said - It was a noice afternoon....

Hey Dave, I'm currently digitising 100's of photos taken by my father in the 50's & 60's and by my great grandfather from the 1890's. My Avatar is one of them. Now tell me, is that a crappy shot of an old Standard, or is it a great momento of a bygone era ?

For me, its priceless, but for you its crap. Fine. Thats a comment on you, not me.

Nice to see everyone is sharing the stoke. I forgot there is only one right way and we should bag everyone else who doesn't think the same way.

Nice pics mate. Friends having fun, riding what they like, where they like using equipment they choose. Like the grin on the dude with the red board's face. Says a lot.

And on a different topic - does pic #3 make the downwind kiter look closer than he really is?
Seems to illustrate one of my not-so-favourite kiting positions...

That's right. [sarcasm]Popular opinion is king and anyone who goes against it should be flamed.[/sarcasm] Remember when people riding their old surfboards with a kite were too just too cheap to have the latest twin tip and generally regarded as kooks? How about foils, are they cool yet?

It's Summer, there's plenty of wind around, why all the angst?

This forum never ceases to amaze me... I just cannot get my head around the negativity of so many of its users....??!! When I first got into this sport I used to love the fact that wherever you went, there was such a POSITIVE vibe - crew always had a smile at the ready and were genuinely HAPPY to share the stoke together. It was a really nice change coming from a background of surfing where that philosophy had sadly gone out the window to be replaced by scowls whenever you paddled into a line-up, punch ups in the water and so on. This sport looks like going the same way, and what a shame that will be.... Wheres the LOVE People FFS???? Respect peoples right to their own opinions, and for those of you who seem to have nothing better to do with your time than bag out others, Im sure theres a forum you could start together where you can revel in each others misery to your hearts content whilst leaving the happiness and stoke to the rest of us. Good on ya Sandgroper, keep the pics coming!

Nobody wants to be the angry guy on the beach, so come and get rid of the ****s here instead

I was interested to see what kind of camera was used though. I just bought my girlfriend a new olympus 1050 (the waterproof/shockproof one) and was thinking they may have been the same camera. I don't think anyone was actually being mean, more just getting frustrated cause usually people are fairly helpful and don't mind giving out their photo "secrets" when they post pics on the forums.

Pretty sure nobody is gonna hold it against Sandgroper if he wants to keep that info to himself though.
