Although there is tremendous excitement about the 2009 Freestyle Championships due to the amazing event that Danielle and the Coconet Team are putting on, we still need to urge all riders who want to compete to get their application forms in!

With only three days before applications close, time is running short!

A quick numbers count shows that there are still vacancies available.

NSW - has yet to lodge any rider’s in Juniors, Women’s and Masters and has only lodged one Open men’s application thus far.

Vic - has a few remaining vacancies in all divisions

SA - has only one nominated rider, so plenty of spots available

WA - has remaining vacancies in all divisions

SEQKA - positions are heavily competed for in the juniors but vacancies exist in all divisions.

QLD Other - only has two nominated riders so far

As you can see, there is plenty of opportunity to win a wild card and represent your State. Decisions of who wins etc will not be made until after the closing date which is 31st Jan 2009 or this Saturday for those that do not arrblah!

So don’t wait, download your form from www.coconetclassic.net.au and email or fax it directly to Danielle….
[email protected] FAX - 07 49737549

This event will be absolutely massive and we want to see Australia’s best freestyle riders throwing down hard and representing their State proudly and loudly in pursuit of being crowned 2009’s best Kiteboarders and best Kiteboarding State!

Best regards, Chris Wardell

Big thanks to all those riders who have recently submitted their forms yew!

Coconet in consultation with AKSA have extended the application period til the 20th of Feb.

The reason that we need forms in quickly is not directly related to the comp, it is a matter of available tickets for the music event. The issue is the ticketing company is separate to Coconet and having sold all pre event tickets they are putting pressure on Coconet to finalise the numbers of riders so by chance there is spare tickets, hence the ticketing compnay can capitilise.

So even if you want to just come to this years Nationals because of the amazing band lineup and to be there is by way of having a crack at the Nationals; we need your application form ASAP!

Yes we want Australia's best kiteboarders to be on their game but hey where else will you get an event like this one. Just the after party alone is going to top any other event held in Australia, not to mention all the other benifits riders are going to get by competing.

In closing, Coconet in conjunction with AKSA is sending a mail out to all members, givng them an extension to get their forms in. Please act quickly as the pressure baring down upon Danielle and the Coconet team is not worth their time and hassle in putting together the Kiteboarding component of this years Coconet Classic. This is the premiere freestyle event which has been going now into its 6th year, if we as riders can't support it then why should Coconet?

Looking forward to seeing a massive run on applications in coming days and I personally can not wait til this event, it is going to be all time!

Cheers

Chris Wardell

Entries into the National Freestyle Championships have officially closed as of the end of FEB but the Coconet Classic Freeride format is still open to all riders and all levels (check out www.coconetclassic.net.au)

Any late entries for the National Titles from this point on will be accepted on a case by case basis and a small additional admin fee will be added. So if you have not yet lodged your claim to ride in this year’s event you still have that opportunity but you must have a good reason as to why you are late;

Something like you lost track of time sitting on the crapper reading sea breeze forums on your IPhone relating to nose grab KGB mega loop will just about cover it!

This year we are allowing a select few competitors to ride in dual divisions. If you are a junior or master competitor and would like the opportunity to have a crack in Open Men’s…please let me know ASAP, there will be an additional charge yet to be determined but I stress you must consider yourself a chance to compete strongly. To substantiate your claim references will be made to your trick list on your initial application!

FREERIDE UPDATE
This year the freeride will see a mixed discipline format. There will be a PARK discipline where riders will hit kickers and sliders: 12m long GALE FORCE KITES A-FRAME plus the SLINGSHOT KICKER just to name but two!
BIG AIR discipline
EXPRESSION SESSION plus heaps more thanks to the Tannum Sands Kiteboarding Club and Coconet
To register check out www.coconetclassic.net.au for further info

Any questions regarding the Freestyle Nationals or the FREERIDE PM me or call me direct on 0422430430
