That is incredible footage. Glad you didn't have to fetch a beer half way through.

Couldn't quite make out the kite in the first one...a peel maybe? I knew someone with a C Quad with those colours/pattern. Wondering who it was...

Come in Lachy or Steve?

LOL I remember the good old days of the "Love In"

I think some of the footage had my 2-line Concept Air foils riding a directional custom 5 fin 7' board in it.

Kane Hartill from NZ is flying a Peter Lynn C-Quad in the second clip.

ha ha, that event was awesome. I remember borrowing a 5m Wipika classic and being freakily overpowered on my stonker proto 185 directional that day.

my huge 7m Naish AR 3-5 was big enough for the light wind days. Great vids. I'd never seen anyone kite like Kane.

Funny days, the Love In was epic, one ofthe most fun weekends I've ever had about 30 of us all staying in one house (that was never the same).
Ordering 30 Pizzas at 10pm hanging off the balcony because that was the only place a phone would work.
The boys from melbourne doing back loops whoa! They were ripping! Ian Young with his concept airs, Kane Hartill ripping on C-Quads.
Sometime after the second clip the riders game enough to kite in the sross off conditions all agreed that it would be a good idea to do a downwinder to Anna Bay, approx 25klms away across shark infested open ocean with mostly non water relaunching kites!!!!!
Kane won it and I think Lach might have come in second. I drove my 4WD round to the wreck and picked up Phil McConachie, then we coudl see Ian Young just not able to get back out through the onshore slop and very loudly threatening to kill his kites, and eventually he came in and we drove both of them back up the beach approx 20klms to Anna Bay for soem tall tales and beers.
Ians amazing aeroplane game that night, so funny.
I'm grinning now just remembering all the insane stuff that happened. Tim Lewis never flown kites before that weekend and you just could not get him off anything that was not being used, he almost lived on the landboards/dirtsurfer and won a prize of a kite for his efforts.
Classic stuff Sean and great transfer technique and music, noice!

yep I really like the fridge door technique too....

I suspected that was Kanus in the vids. He was freakishly good at the whole kitesurfing thing, back when it was really REALLY tricky. He had this wonderful wetsuit too, with a red monkey bum.

Yeah I remember that Downwinder - wasn't the kite I was pissed off with - I'd broken a footstrap - wasn't up to strapless riding in those days LOL - still prefer straps and boosting high ;-)

Despite claims to be otherwise involved for longer in kiting, Alex was not there. He did start to appear at various events and places about a year later, as have be proven by Seans films and Alex's own stuff.

Wow that brings back some memories! My kite boarding at that stage consisted of wobbling along for 30 meters or so until I a) crashed the kite and swam in or b) broke the kite frame or bridles or handles. That day I broke the handle on my 4.2m C-Quad which was probably a good thing given the wind direction. Thanks for posting!

you don't change it's always who's better, I just want to share what I have learnt and filmed , you are so boring and yes we did break a record, most kite up in NSW ever!! At least I was involved and not putting **** on people.

So nice to have another sport and not have to deal with people like you.
keep the attitude and keep the sport small, nobody wants to be a part of what you promote.

I don't remember saying anything about being better than anyone Alex?

Tell us all about this record though. What do you mean "most kite up"?
Biggest kite?
Most single line kites?
Where can we find out about the record, and the previous record?

Kitepower promotes kites, seems to be a lot of people do want to fly kites, even you!
Kitepower and Kiteworks promoted the Love In, and you came too, there, happy now?
