I hear ya, but there is a flip side to this argument. Self launching and landing are skills that everyone should learn and practice. There won't always be someone there to help you and let's face it...on the water, everyone's their own captain.
Now many launch sites simply require assisted launches and landings. Usually because of crowds, rocks, obstacles etc. But when you're at a beach that has room for safe self launching and landing...I perfer not to bug other people for their help.
One thing, if you do ask someone to catch your kite, it's nice to jog right up and take it from them. Don't exect them to secure it for you.
