This will be a massive thing for the hundreds of windsurfers who visit the area especially in summer for those great sea breezes. Let alone the Formula guys who hold at least 2 regattas there every season.
As per usual councils have no ****** idea.
If its not broke, dont fix it!!!!!!

Some interesting ideas in there, and they are right about the caravan park needing a major overhaul. They are proposing to block off that area where we park and rig and build a new carpark to the north of the current access road.

So, what alternatives can we come up with to propose to them? Or do we just beg and plead to get a key to the "new gate" for when we run events (including the formula Nationals next feb).

Is WindsurfingNSW (as a stakeholder, and frequent customer to the park, as the proxy for many concerned NSW windsurfers) going to look into this?

That is, if anyone has free time to act against some aspects of this proposal.

Haven't time to look into it, but if what Brett has mentioned is true, then it seems the Council will be acting to alter the access.

This would reduce the opportunities that land holds (i don't understand over-fencing and too much cordoning off areas) - it just limits what can be done in areas - often without adding the benefits of the infrastructure (and imposing costs).

Unless this is paid parking, or there is some other driving force, then this seems like a costly way for the Council to reduce the natural asthetic appeal, useability and cause construction disturbance and overall degradation on the natural capital (and land value) of the land (a bad economic choice for council land - or a way to raise more funds)?

Would need to look into it more - but what do they mention is wrong with the site to need an 'upgrade'?

Or am I way off track without reading the full proposal?
