I use AI extensively and have tried it for evaluating gear and products.

It's great for comparison shopping. Ask it to compare something or what's the difference between and you'll get a quick and clear comparison table.

It gets murky when you start checking things and find it's made an error or left something out. You get a "glad you caught that" and it changes things to suit. Go round that cycle a few times and it loses the plot.

I watched a bunch of videos and it looks like the Fynix system does exactly the same job as the PAL thing on the PPC Orbit. Specifically it pulls and releases the trailing edge lines (Z lines).

The Orbit does this with with a single line from the trailing edge down to a mini-cleat at the back end of the bar, operated and set by hand. ie. You shorten or lengthen the Z lines with your free hand whenever you want and the setting stays where you put it.

The Fynix has the A and B lines pass through the bar and attached to the harness hook. You shorten or length all the lines by pushing or pulling the bar but the Z-lines stay the same. It's a lot more complicated, probably much more prone to wear, but possibly more intuitive as long as you're hooked in. You'd only have full power unhooked, which is not a problem if you're going downwind or stowing or whatever.

The PPC video with the Nova designer says they came up with a super-complicated bar system, but the PPC crew came up with a much simpler system. I'm guessing that Nova tried the Fynix style bar and that was the complicated one.

You can see the Fynix bar doing its trailing edge thing at the 50 second mark in this video:

Two short answers. Prescription sunnies, or surgery.

Good sunglasses work fine. There's a few methods to make them perform better and deal with water spots and fogging.

I had laser surgery in 1995 and my vision is still better than 20:20. Highly recommended.

I have older friends (in their 80's) and they've had cataract surgery. No glasses and excellent vision.
