K.I.S.S. method for weight/board volume
>+20= full floater
+1-+19= semi floater
Kg= L is neutral
-1 to -19 semi sinker
+20= full floater
+1-+19= semi floater
Kg= L is neutral
-1 to -19 semi sinker
<-20= full sinker

The argument I am trying to make here seems to be completely missed.

-20 L for a 50 kg rider is not the same as -20 L for a 110 kg rider.
The board volume under and above the waterline won't be the same in those 2 scenarios.
Absolute values are meaningless.
While % of BW is a much more meaningful and comparable metric from rider to rider.

What do you gain by having such a small board? Are you doing tricks- spinning the board in mid air or jumping loops etc?

I'll give you the benefit of doubt and assume that you're not trolling.

I'll also answer your question by asking you why don't you still use your beginner board?
Why did you downsize?
Why aren't we all riding 150L boards with a 2000 cm low-mid aspect foil? 🧐

No not trolling just genuinely curious as to what motivates you to ride small boards. I guess the obvious answer is that they're more agile hence the question about free style, however do you notice that much of a difference between a sinker & say a midi?
For me getting started easily is a main factor but I'm guessing you may not come off foil that much or maybe it's really windy where you ride so maybe starting off is not as important to you. Do you chase after performance gains with each component of your equipment?
To answer your question I downsized from a huge square 130l board to a 85l board because that's what everyone said to do. That board was a pig to ride so I made a 7'x20 DW board which I loved. I guess I upsized but more importantly changed board shape. I have made a few boards since then of various lengths however I can't stop riding my 7' boards. I just love how they carve- effortlessly, graceful. Horses for courses I spose.
I'm currently trying to dial in a 6'x20" & Man, I take my hat off to you guys who ride small boards - they are a pain in the arse.😁 I'm not at the stage yet where i can tell if I'll get any tangible benefits from the smaller board but in the meantime it's another challenge to keep things interesting.

After day three, getting to my feet feels easier than with a hand wing. All because the S3 pulls overhead strong, unlike a hand wing. Plus, the parawing only requires one hand to fly, allowing my free hand to push off the deck helping me stand. I now have a new hip. I tried 2 years ago with a bad hip and quit after 2 attempts with the Flow D-wing. Sold them immediately. Thought I’d never be able to parawing. Better flying parawings and new hip made me try again. I now believe senior citizens are better off riding parawings, over hand wings into our sunset years. I let my 76 year old buddy try it today. He also got to his feet. My wife struggled on day one of hand winging with new fresh knee replacement. She also believes parawinging will be easier to get to her feet after watching me. So she will be the next parawinger in town. This is 5.3m with F4 Orca 1050. I-windsurf sensor “average” 13-16 mph (range 10-20) on day 2 and 3. Weight 195 lbs.

Legend.

Yeah I never quite worked out why they thought ski boots on the board were necessary?

They are late to the game. 777 has already realsed everything I/we need. They should have announced things earlier! Ozone too, you never know with Ozone when/if they realse. They should have realsed the PR v2 and PP at the same time.
Hybrid is great specially in smaller sizes!

Instead of trying to gatecrash everyone else's promotions with your posts why don't you just set up your own thread. It's getting a bit tiresome &as someone interested in 777 for my next PW, it really puts me off the brand.

Great review. I have the 7.3m and I have been surprised how easy is to recover from dropping it in the water. It flies really well.
And you use the bar to protect yourself against pirates.

What wind range for the 7.3m? I kinda want to get one but can't commit as the wind window for using my 4.3 is so small I think I might get overly frustrated... again...

I meant heel side one handed. Is there any benefit / point?

Foot switching isn't a problem. I always switch back to heel side

I think the beauty of it is that there's no need to foot swap with the PW. Unlike winging where you're twisted up holding the wing, riding the PW one handed toeside is relatively easy. I guess it takes one thing out of the process, foot swapping.
I personally like the feeling of leaning out frontways hanging onto the PW.

When I've been totally overpowered 30+ knots on a 3.3m I find I can foil for longer toeside for some reason. It's uncomfortable requiring full on concentration but I go for further before getting blown off. If I'm riding normal & sheeting right out I just get repeatedly trashed & only manage about 15m before crashing. Anyone know what that's all about? I was wondering if it's because I somehow am sheltering the wing from the wind somehow toeside.

I've just bought a Frigate 4m second-hand but so far it's been really gusty when it's windy enough. How do you get up when the parawing doesn't have steady pull?

You don't. You just swear at the fricking thing & whoever designed the stupid things then go in & pump up the wing to save the session. If you don't get that magical 16-20 knots the 4 (4.3) is a pain in the arse. I love my PW for the 3-4 sessions each season when the conditions line up. I hate my PW for the other 1000 sessions they don't.
